About Us

Summit Procurement was established in July, 1993 in Yakima, Washington by Jim and Sue McCorkindale. Initially the company was started to procure fruits and vegetables for Jim's domestic customers. In 1995 a second service was added to the business, an outside fruit and produce inspection service. A third service was started in 2001 with the addition of a processor sales department.

Summit Procurement buys, sells, and inspects basically everything grown in the Pacific Northwest. We sell apples, pears, cherries, prunes, plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines, as well as asparagus, rhubarb, potatoes and onions. Summit actively works with over 100 shippers in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.  We know our products and the people who pack them. We service all areas of the U.S. and Canada with orders ranging from partial truck loads to full loads and railcars.

Jim McCorkindale, Owner/Manager

Jim was raised on a family apple orchard in the Naches Heights area eight miles West of Yakima.  He still lives on a small acreage of organic Red Delicious at that site. In June of 2009 he celebrated 24 years of selling the "greatest apples on earth."

Please give Jim a call at 800-556-5650 or an e-mail at mac@appleseller.com

Sue McCorkindale, Owner/Office Manager

Sue McCorkindale is Jim's wife of 40 plus years and the office manager for Summit Procurement. She handles all correspondence and is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and a myriad of other day to day tasks that keep the wheels turning at Summit.
